Overcoming Obstacles

In every aspect of our lives, we encounter obstacles. I feel its how we deal with or overcome those situations that say the most about us.

For example, in my very first series on minis ever I was hit with more than one at a time. Now us in the Midwest are no stranger to mother natures temperament. So when temperatures went from 70 plus and sunny one day to 30 and snowing the day of the shoot – I had to adjust.

I made a plan to temporarily convert my garage into a studio. Got up super early cleaned and organized everything. Set everything up, got some test shots, and was ready to go. That is until the power went out 45 min before families were ready to show up. Enter my amazing husband to the rescue.

Thankfully we have a generator and my husband got us all hooked up with power just in time for everyone to show. After that, everything was reasonably smooth sailing. Now I could have rescheduled all my families due to weather and then again due to power, but we figured out a way.

I’m more than excited with how all the images turned out and can’t wait to schedule another mini soon!

Some final tips...

  • Have a plan B and C for everything.
  • Realize that things happen and you have to roll with the punches.
  • Make the best of it.
  • HAVE Fun!!!!
